How to Wrap with a Furoshiki

Furoshiki is a tool that has been used since ancient times, allowing you to wrap objects of various shapes with a single piece of cloth. First, place the item you want to wrap in the center of the furoshiki, and simply tying opposite corners together is enough to wrap it easily. By slightly changing how you tie it, you can even hold round objects like bottles stably, so it's useful to remember this technique. Unlike paper wrapping, because it can be used repeatedly, it has recently been getting renewed attention as an eco-friendly way to wrap things. Since untying the knot returns it to a single flat cloth, there's no trouble carrying it around after you're done using it.

  • "~だけで" means 'just by doing ~', expressing that a single simple action is sufficient to achieve a certain result, without needing anything more.
  • "~と違い" means 'unlike ~' or 'in contrast to ~', used to point out a difference between two things being compared.
  • "~ことから" means 'because of the fact that ~' or 'from the fact that ~', introducing a reason or basis that logically leads to a certain conclusion or evaluation.
