How to use

Designed to help you progress once you’re comfortable with the basics. Use it as supplementary material alongside your studies.

Pick a school grade or JLPT level and do this each day:

  1. Handwrite the passage in a notebook.
  2. Read the passage out loud.
  3. Understand the meaning of the passage (if you need help, check the English translation).
  4. Take note of the grammar points (try understanding them in Japanese first; if you need help, refer to the English translation).

こうようライトアップのおしらせ

しりつもみじこうえんでは、じゅういちがつついたちからじゅうごにちまで、こうようのライトアップをおこないます。かいじょうにはいるさいには、かならずせいもんからおはいりください。ちゅうしゃじょうのだいすうにかぎりがあるため、こうきょうこうつうきかんのごりようをおすすめします。えんないではかきのしようをきんししていますので、あたたかいのみものはばいてんでおかいもとめいただけます。おおくのかたにゆっくりこうようをたのしんでいただけるよう、しずかにおすごしください。

文法

  • 「〜際さいには」は、ある行動こうどうをする場面ばめんや状況じょうきょうを表あらわす、ややかたい表現ひょうげんで、「〜するときには」という意味いみを持もつ。
  • 「〜ため」は、ある結果けっかの理由りゆうや原因げんいんを客観的きゃっかんてきに述のべる表現ひょうげんで、お知しらせや説明せつめい文ぶんでよく使つかわれる。
  • 「〜ていただけます」は、相手あいてが何なにかをすることができる、あるいは相手あいてのためにしてもらえることを丁寧ていねいに伝つたえる表現ひょうげん。

Notice: Autumn Leaves Light-Up Event

Municipal Momiji Park will hold an autumn leaves light-up event from November 1st to 15th. When entering the venue, please be sure to enter through the main gate. Since the number of parking spaces is limited, we recommend using public transportation. The use of fire is prohibited within the park, so hot drinks can be purchased at the refreshment stand. So that many visitors can enjoy the autumn leaves at leisure, please remain quiet while visiting.

  • ~際には means 'on the occasion of ~' or 'when ~', a somewhat formal expression used to specify the situation in which an action takes place, often seen in notices and formal writing.
  • ~ため means 'because of ~' or 'due to ~', objectively stating the reason or cause for a result, commonly used in notices and explanatory writing.
  • ~ていただけます politely conveys that the listener is able to do something, or that something can be done for their benefit, often used in service and formal settings.
